On Tuesday, June 20th, ALCAP President Greg Davis was joined by Alabama State Senator Chris Elliot (Josephine) on Priority Talk Radio to discuss his decision to sponsor legislation in the upcoming special session to cut 5 million dollars from the Alabama Department of Archives and History because of their decision to hold a LGBTQ+ event.
“[The Alabama Department of Archives and History] essentially is celebrating more of this LGBTQ+ nonsense that is so insidious in this environment today… [They are] not listening to the people. [They are] not listening to [their] representatives. And we are going to make sure we get [their] attention by drawing this money back,” Elliot said.
They continued to talk about the special legislative session and various cultural issues.
