Last week, the Alabama State Legislature held a Special Session. In that Session, called by Governor Ivey, the only legislative issue was allocating the remaining $1 Billion plus from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The Senate, House of Representatives, and Governor came to an agreement appropriating the money on broadband, water/sewer, health care, and storm drain improvements. The 2023 Regular Session will be back in session this week. No doubt many bills of interest to ALCAP will be filed. Your ALCAP staff will be monitoring and informing you as needed. We also have a few bills we are advocating for on your behalf. We will be able to have much more specific information in next week’s ALCAP Alert.
Prayer in the House of Representatives

A week after opening the Alabama Senate in prayer, ALCAP President Greg Davis had the honor of opening March 14th’s session in the House of Representatives with prayer. We want to thank Speaker Ledbetter for the privilege.
ALCAP Hosts Legislative Prayer Breakfast

Since 1980 (minus COVID years), ALCAP has hosted a weekly prayer breakfast during the legislative session for those serving in Government work in Montgomery. A good group gathered on March 16th for the launch of 2023’s Thursday morning breakfasts. ALCAP President Greg Davis led in a time of prayer and shared a devotion. If you or your church would like to donate towards expenses please contact admin@alcap.com.
