Sanctity of Life

• Abortion’s Toll: Since 1973, more than 63 million unborn children have been lost to abortion in the U.S. (Guttmacher Institute, 2022).
• Out-of-State Pressure: With Roe v. Wade overturned in 2022, Alabama has enacted strong protections. Yet, abortion providers in other states continue to market their services to Alabamians through mail-order abortion pills. 
• Vulnerable Mothers: Women in crisis pregnancies face immense pressure, often compounded by poverty, lack of support, or misinformation about alternatives.
• Cultural Challenges: Media and activist groups continue to push narratives that normalize abortion as “healthcare,” undermining Alabama’s pro-life stance.

• Alabama’s Human Life Protection Act (2019) prohibits nearly all abortions, but enforcement remains ongoing.
• Crisis Pregnancy Centers across Alabama are providing vital support to women — offering counseling, ultrasounds, baby supplies, and adoption referrals.
• National data shows women often choose abortion not out of desire but desperation; 73% cite financial reasons or lack of support as primary factors (Charlotte Lozier Institute, 2021).

God declares that human life is sacred: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5). The shedding of innocent blood is condemned throughout Scripture, and Christians are called to defend the vulnerable. Protecting life honors both the Creator and His image in every child.

• Support enforcement of Alabama’s Human Life Protection Act.
• Oppose attempts to introduce exceptions or loopholes that weaken life protections.
• Promote adoption and foster care reforms to provide life-affirming alternatives.
• Advocate for increased funding and support for Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

• For Lawmakers: Stand firm on pro-life legislation and resist national pressure to weaken state protections.
• For Churches: Provide support to single mothers, partner with pregnancy resource centers, and teach a biblical ethic of life.
• For Citizens: Volunteer at local pregnancy centers, support adoption ministries, and speak out publicly for life.
