March 7th begins the 2023 Alabama State Legislative Session. As always, ALCAP will be on site each day ministering, monitoring, and advocating on key moral issues. On Thursday, March 9th, ALCAP will be hosting a prayer rally at the statehouse steps in Montgomery at 11:30am. The time of prayer will finish before noon. There will be no political speeches or partisan activity. We simply are calling on all Christians who are able to join us for a time of intercession.
“The Prayer Rally is something new for ALCAP. We hosted the very first one in 2022 and it was successful. We can never go wrong when we pray. I know that those who serve our state in government work value the prayers of the people they serve,” ALCAP President Greg Davis remarked. “We know that Scripture instructs us to pray for those in authority. So we are pleasing God when we do so. So whether we have dozens or hundreds in attendance, we plan to pray on March 9th.”
There is public parking around the statehouse. There are other nearby places to park as well, such as the Cramton Bowl. Further instructions concerning van and bus parking will be forthcoming. Check back here for those details in the upcoming days, or feel free to contact us with any questions. Additionally, there is a restaurant within walking distance of the statehouse that can accommodate your group for lunch. https://www.trstmrkt.com/
For those who would like to stay after the prayer rally, ALCAP will host a walking prayer tour of the Statehouse and Capitol at 1pm. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make these arrangements for yourself or your group.
Additionally, if you would like for ALCAP to help arrange a meeting with your State Senator or Representative that day, please email email@example.com
