Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen recently talked with ALCAP President Greg Davis on Priority Talk Radio about election integrity and election fraud. For him and many Alabama residents, this is a high-priority issue:
“I’ve traveled all over our state for many years talking about absentee ballot fraud and the absentee ballot application fraud and, from day one, I’ve been very clear. Election integrity is a top priority for me and the office that I lead… Alabama elections are a top priority and we are going to protect them.”
Wes Allen went on to mention the recent voter fraud allegations from Clay County and how he quickly involved Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, who prosecuted the case. Allen was very thankful for how Marshall handled the issue. The collective response by Alabama’s elected officials was a “clear signal” to anyone inside Alabama to reconsider any potential efforts to undermine election integrity.
Greg Davis then gave the context for the Clay County situation: A Democrat was running for Clay County Commission. He was falsifying absentee ballot applications so that he would obtain more votes. Thankfully, he was caught. Wes Allen was quick to praise all those involved, from local law enforcement to elected officials at the state level.
